Stephanie Foo and CPTSD
I recently read the book What My Bones Know by journalist Stephanie Foo–a powerful memoir that explores her journey living with Complex PTSD (CPTSD) and her path towards healing. Foo writes honestly and vulnerably about her own experience while simultaneously educating readers on how CPTSD can present. She includes transcripts of her therapy sessions as well as details on the other resources she developed in order to aid with her healing process. Foo writes about the importance of mindfulness, support groups, physical activity, self-compassion and gratitude, rebuilding safe relationships, and uncovering generational trauma to understand its impact. I highly recommend this book for anyone curious about CPTSD or looking for a personal and insightful perspective on trauma and recovery. -PB
