Valuing the personal narrative. Honoring equally all aspects of self. Esteeming connections.

Knowing you are seen and feeling attached is paramount to quality therapy.

At the Relational Therapy Collective, we believe healing is fundamentally a relational process rooted in deep, transformative connections.

Our mission is to foster meaningful relationships with oneself, loved ones, the community, and the myriad struggles and triumphs that define the human experience. By nurturing these connections, we empower individuals to navigate life’s constant flux and embrace well-being in its truest form, beyond mere happiness or completeness.

We commit to advancing social justice and promoting decolonization within our practice and community. Through this work, we aim to dismantle oppressive structures and cultivate a therapeutic environment that honors diverse voices and histories, ensuring our healing practices are accessible, inclusive, and profoundly transformative.

Values Statement

Connection:

We are a collective of therapists committed to understanding and nurturing the pivotal relationships that influence well-being. Our approach is rooted in the conviction that acceptance and change are achieved through meaningful interactions—with oneself, intimate partners, communities, and the world at large.

Authenticity:

We value and promote authentic human experiences in our therapy sessions. By encouraging genuineness and transparency, we create a safe space for clients to explore their true feelings, thoughts, and identities, fostering deeper self-awareness and personal growth.

Diversity:

Each clinician at our clinic brings a unique blend of life experiences, knowledge, and identities. We celebrate this diversity, understanding that it enriches our collective insight and enhances the therapeutic relationships we build.

Inclusivity:

We actively address and challenge the impacts of societal structures like sexism, heterosexism, ablism, colorism, cultural and/or spiritual oppression and capitalism within our practice. Our inclusive ethos ensures that every individual feels seen, heard, and supported.

Growth and Integration:

Recognizing that life is a dynamic journey of holding on and letting go, we guide our clients to embrace both change and constancy. Our work incorporates principles of multiplicity and parts, empowering individuals to integrate all aspects of their “self” and identity for holistic healing. Our practitioners often embrace the wisdom and guidance of our lived experiences (wounds and gifts) as well as tapping into the felt sense of the “inner child”.

Equanimity:

We are committed to helping ourselves, our clients, and the broader community embrace and cultivate equanimity for as long as needed. Equanimity is the state of even-mindedness and balance—a calm and composed response, particularly in moments of conflict. It is the ability to pause, reflect, and mindfully monitor your initial judgments or reactions toward others. This practice is not about inaction or yielding to external pressures. Instead, it is a deliberate connection to your values, roots, and ancestral wisdom, allowing you to respond authentically and appropriately in the moment.

Empowerment:

We provide each client with the opportunity to learn about our therapists’ beliefs, training, and identities, empowering them to choose a therapist who resonates with their current life journey.

“The two young women trample over the memories and two invisible little girls pad after them. Because they’re always walking behind us: the children we were before the worst that has happened happened.”
