Listening Therapy

I often say to my clients, “Don’t trust a therapist that isn’t ‘doing their own work’ “, meaning grappling with their own human experience. So here I am giving a bit of a behind-the-scenes peek at what that looks like for me currently. This past August, I began exploring a therapy modality in my personal journey called The Safe and Sound Protocol. SSP is a therapeutic intervention that uses filtered music to support emotional regulation, sensory processing, and social engagement. It’s based on the Polyvagal Theory by Stephen Porges. Essentially, it helps rewire the nervous system for connection and safety. In our work, we know that sometimes words are not enough.
